In today's How To Create we will be going through how to create your own custom invitations using a template design on Zazzle.com.
We created a printable version of the tutorial. Please click here to download the PDF to view, save or print form your computer or click 'read more' to continue on to the steps of editing a template from Zazzle.
Step 1: Edit Personal Details
This step is definitely the easiest step. With our templates we have set up through Zazzle you can edit your personalized details directly on the product page. As you update your information, Zazzle will automatically populate your text into the invitation and preview it to the right of your screen.
Simply click on the first text box to begin editing.
Step 2: Add Your Wedding Colors
To add or change your wedding colors to your invitation through the fonts or even the background color of the invitation, select "Click to customize further" to be taken to Zazzle's product editor.
To change the color of the background, select a new background color from the color pallet or select "Show Color Picker" to change the background color with a HEX Code of your desired color or select your color by sliding around the small circle along the color you'd like to change your invitation to. (See photo below)
Update Font Colors
At this point you may need to adjust the font colors of the invitation to ensure that your guests will be able to read the details of your special day.
To do this, select the text you'd like to change. Then at the bottom of the screen, select the color box to change the font color, as shown below.
*PRO TIPS* Use contrasting colors to make it easier for your guests to read your invitations. Light colors on a dark background or dark colors on a light background.
You can also change the font style and size in this section.
When completed with the front of the invitation, be sure to select the "Back: Images and Text " to change the color of the back of the invitation to match the front.
Once all of your changes to your invitation have been completed, scroll back to the top of the page and select "Done" to return to the main product page.
Step 3: Select Paper Shape
Zazzle offers six shapes to have your invitation cut into. A 'normal' square, rounded, bracket, scalloped, ticket and tagged. Select the style you desire from this list and it too will instantly update in the product preview.
Step 4: Select Paper Type
Zazzle offers several different paper types which are all good for various projects. The best types of paper for wedding invitations are: Matte, Linen, Cotton, and Shimmer. Gloss is better for your Save The Dates or any photo invitations.
Once you've finalized all of the changes you'd like to make move to the top of the screen add the quantity then select "Add to Cart".
Zazzle offers up to 50% off with higher quantities.
