With many engagements that took place over the most recent holidays we figured now would be the perfect time to release a guide for all things related to Engagement Photos and Save The Dates. You probably already posted a cute photo of your hand with your new shiny ring on all of your social media accounts but now that the glitter has settled its time to start thinking about your engagement photos for your save the date cards.
Today we are going to go through our five favorite styles of Save The Date Cards and how to get your photos to work for you.
1. Incorporate your theme into the photo
This particular couple would be having a summer or beach themed wedding. The woman’s dress hints at tropical getaway with a tropical floral print. If you can not go to the location that is your wedding theme (a foreign destination or a tropical setting in the winter time) simply add a touch similar to the photo above or with a prop to hint at the theme of your upcoming event.
2. Use your environment
Maybe you’re having a mountain side wedding. Maybe this isn’t even a mountain and just a hill that the photographer was able to make look like a mountain. (Okay, so that’s doubtful, but still!) This style of photo is perfect for the couple who is currently unsure of what they want their wedding theme to be or realistically is having a traditional wedding with use of colors rather than a theme. You can use this photo as a standalone with all your important save the date information on the back of a postcard or you can add your details anywhere in the background.
3. Choose a collage save the date
Collages are perfect for those couples who can’t just pick one photo from their amazing photographer. A tip here is to have a very similar vibe throughout the photos chosen so that the Save The Date Card looks uniform rather than a funky mess.
4. Fun and Quirky
If you’ve looked on Pinterest for engagement photo ideas you’ve undoubtedly found a photo session or two where the couple looks to be floating in the air with a balloon or even the photo of a couple with a plus sign and a heart. These are great memorable photos. They clearly show off the couple’s playful side and are memorable. Which make them perfect for your save the date cards.
5. Go Traditional
If you’re a person who likes tradition and doesn’t want to buck the norm there is no reason why you can not have a traditional engagement photo of you and your hubby to be. You can still modernize it some by adding it to a calendar (like shown above), magnet or other object for your friends and family.
