So today I realized while reading through the Etsy Teams forums for digital designers that not everyone knows how to unzip files. I have taken this for granted with many of my designs because they are simply too big to put up on Etsy without compressing the file to make it smaller without skimping on the quality of my work. I assumed that since I knew how to do this everyone did as well. So today I am going to teach you, step by step, how to unzip a file that you may have downloaded from my Etsy Shop.
Today’s lesson will cover how to unzip a file using Microsoft Windows as your operating system. I will put another How To for a Mac as the steps are very similar but some of the words and steps may be a little different.
Step 1: Locate the folder that you saved your downloaded ZIP File. Figure 1.
Step 3: Click on “Extract Files”. Figure 2.
Step 4: A new window will pop up on your screen. Check the box that says “Show Extracted Files When Complete” then click “Extract”. Figure 3.
That’s it! Now you should have all the files that you downloaded available to open, view, and print.
I hope this helped.
