So I just got my Save The Date Postcard from my baby sister in the mail, today. I am not really sure when she mailed them.. but I just got them. I'm also really bad about checking my mail. And constantly missing mail. That's a whole other subject though.
I already showed you all a preview of what the designed looked like on a previous post in my blog. Now to show you the turned out product.
Quality of VistaPrint
Overall I would say that the quality is really amazing. The photos came out just as I had set the settings too. The artwork and calendar also came out in clear, sharp bold colors. I would say from the design to print they did AMAZING. Like it looks exactly how I intended for it to look.
The postcard was slightly damaged in the mailing process. You can see on the front where it looks like there was a little bit of smudging in the clouds. Though not VistaPrint's fault necessarily I would have liked to have seen an option to ensure that the postcard would be waterproof though in fairness I never checked with them about this in advance. Also in fairness I don't know what the invitations looked like prior to them being mailed.
My general opinion here though is that the quality was amazing. We opted for the higher quality 130 lb. Premium Glossy paper. It cost a bit more but I think it is worth it times a million.
My score: 9.5/10
Time Frame from Order to Delivery
My sister and I ordered these on September 29th. She chose the longest delivery option because it was the cheapest and we didn't need them rushed or anything like that. She got the invitations at her address on October 8th. 7 Business Days later. Which was a day earlier than their promised delivery date. Their options are "Express 3 Business Days", "Standard 5 Business Days" and "Economy 8 Business Days"
My score: 10/10
I love VistaPrint mostly just because they are very economical for mailing out materials at a good quality with a decent price. Even when their items are not on sale (which honestly I rarely see) they are not a bad price. You can get 100 postcards for under $30 not on sale.
But VistaPrint offers a ton of specials check them out on their webpage.
My Score: 10/10
I would so definitely recommend Vistaprints. I'm not sure if we're going the DIY route for the invitations and printing them at home or if we are going through with Vistaprints and then adding stuff to them or what we're doing yet. We're talking about it now. Once the decision has been made and the invitations have been sent I will update everyone with how they turned out.
I love my designs, sometimes so much that I duplicate them with just subtle changes that completely create a whole new design, such as the case with my latest item that is now available in my shop. Go check out the full design on Etsy.
This invitation suite is fully editable in Adobe Reader for the DIY'ers out there. You can completely customize any portion of the wording including font and color changes as necessary. The holly and swirls itself can not be changed.
Matching Save the Date Cards
I also have matching Save the Date Cards that area available on my Etsy shop now as well. They feature the same design but with your engagement photo behind the holly swirl. This item is fully customized for you. Just send me your info and I will have your design completed same day.
These Save The Date cards can be designed with the back as a beautiful swirl design taken from the original holy swirl design, a post card design, or you could leave it blank and add it to a magnet.
Hello fine folks hope all is doing well. A few days ago I posted my preview of this kit as part of how I start my design inspiration. Today I figured I would show you the real thing!
I have loved this kit since I first started the creative process for it over a year ago. Now today I feel it is better than ever and perfect for a non-scary Halloween Party.
Comes with everything you need to throw a great party and many things for the favors as well
I'm working on several more items right now that I can't wait to get up. Another version of my Holly Snowflake Swirl Winter Wedding Invitation Kit, more baby shower invitations and my favorite, Christmas Items!!!
I'll probably get the Holly Swirl Winter Invitation Kit up by weekend's end.
Someone asked me once how do I come up with my ideas for my designs. Sometimes I see something on the internet that sparks my creativity. Beauty is all around us and ideas can spark from anything from an image online, a dream, a song you happen to be listening to at that moment. Don't look down on creativity ever. If it is something that you normally wouldn't do don't think you shouldn't do it. Instead push yourself to try something different.
Once I have an idea I take it straight to my drawing board so that I don't forget it or miss an important detail. My drawing board can be quite a mess. Sometimes it is scribble in a notebook that takes a life of it's own. Then other times it's back to 1995 with MS Paint (figuratively of course :)) Some day I will give you all a peak into my notebook but for now I'll show you my Photoshop version of my notebook instead.
My upcoming design is an old one from my first shop, Printed Momentos, but I've redesigned it to some extent. I'm very happy with how it is coming out. I'll probably have it posted online in a few hours as soon as I finish the last piece finished and then get together the description and Etsy Images. I really wanted to have it up yesterday but between my addiction to coffee and my ADHD kicking in I found myself more on Spotify than Photoshop.
Till then, enjoy the 'preview' below.
I first started my shop and my wedding creations because my sister is getting married soon (less than a year away) and I had just begun getting back into digital designs after a small break from it. She showed me a couple of designs that she had found online for her save the date cards that she liked and asked if I would be able to create something similar to what those individuals had.
I jumped at the opportunity to help her. I love creating things and I enjoy helping people out, especially family. So we played with a few designs and she ultimately picked one. Well that was months ago. The other week she contacted me again saying that she needed to get them printed up and asked how to go about doing it. We were going to go with Shutterfly because she had gotten some gift card codes to use when we went shopping for bridemaids dresses but to her luck (she so has none) they expired. So we ultimately chose Vistaprints. i had heard so many things about them being great.
I took her through the steps to ensure that she would get the best quality. I had found a promo code they were running for up to 40% off their designs. And we placed her order.
We chose the longest shipping because although she needed them soon she could wait a week or so to get them. She got them earlier than expected and says that they absolutely turned out better than she could have possibly imagined.
This is the design that she ultimately chose for me to make. As soon as I get an image or a copy of the card I will definitely post it here on my blog as well.
Update: They've arrived!!!! See my blog post on my review and how they turned out, here.
I've been quite busy lately with the many designs that I've put up on my Etsy shop recently. I absolutely love what I do and I got my first sale last week which has me so excited and wanting to create more more more for people to enjoy.
I love being able to help brides and grooms with their wedding invitations. I love knowing that I can help save them money so that they can focus on more important things.
My latest design is really for the the bride and groom who are getting married in the winter months. It offers beautiful snowflakes dancing around a silver swirl. A perfectly placed holly leaf at the corner as an additional touch.

My introduction into chalkboard designs occurred recently with my Halloween Cat Witch design that I absolutely fell in love with. Since that design I have found myself obsessing over the chalkboard designs that I could create.
My latest creation, a Chalkboard Baby Shower Collection, really enabled me to dive in and develop an entire suite around the chalkboard design. I spent many hours working on this project so that it would completely take the chalkboard theme that everyone loves to a whole other level. Every detail has an element of chalk added to it. While still enabling a beautiful design that you and your guests will love.
The collection consists of three parts. The invitation and thank you card, baby shower decorations with party favors, and baby shower games. Check out my detailed Baby Shower Collection Page here on my website.
For a limited time, I"m offering $5 off with purchase of all three times with coupon code: "Chalkboard".
